Towne Club wins national honor from homebuilders association.

The developers of Towne Club Peachtree City always believed they were creating a one-of-a-kind community. And now they have a gold medal to prove it.

Towne Club, a luxury lifestyle community for active seniors, has earned top honors in the prestigious 2009 Best of 50+ Housing Awards competition. Towne Club was named Gold Winner for "Best Multifamily Rental 50+ Community (Market Rate)" in the nation.

The annual awards ceremony, sponsored by the National Association of Home Builders, was held in Philadelphia Tuesday (April 28). Towne Club Peachtree City was one of 200 developments from across the U.S. competing for honors.

"The award affirms this new and exciting product niche for senior living," said Greg Almquist, CEO of Almquist Hansen, LLC. "The recognition goes to the outstanding team of design and construction professionals who made Towne Club possible."

Towne Club opened in October 2008 and features 72 one-bedroom and 73 two-bedroom apartments. Among the numerous amenities offered: a spa and fitness area, resort-style pool and pavilion, country club dining and cocktail lounge, outdoor putting green and an indoor parking garage for golf carts.

In addition, Towne Club is located in the heart of Peachtree City, which in 2007 was named one of the nation's "Ten Best Places to Retire" by U.S. News & World Report.

In winning top honors, Towne Club emphasized its exceptional design, highly personalized service and its focus on creating a sense of community for residents.

"We attended to many details in the design in an effort to provide the finest living environment we could deliver. This award is affirmation of that," said Norm Hansen, president of Almquist Hansen, LLC. "Our approach from the beginning was to ‘think out of the box'. We constantly listened and responded to the special design needs for seniors. That was our goal. I think we succeeded."

Towne Club is jointly owned by Almquist Hansen, LLC, Glenmont Capital Management and Clark Properties. The project was designed by Niles Bolton Associates and constructed by Choate Construction Company.

The community, which sits on a meticulously landscaped 11-acre tract with gardens, trails and various water features, is Peachtree City's first age-restricted rental property. Residents must be at least 55 years old. It is on Crosstown Road, conveniently located across from the Braelinn Village Shopping Center.

Towne Club is currently accepting applications for new residents. Private tours can be arranged by calling 770-632-5823. For more information, go to: towneclubpeachtreecity.com.
